I have loved Zambia so far, this morning we had a lovely breakfast at 7.00am with monkeys swinging in the tree above.  Then we headed out for a busy morning of coaching where we went to three separate schools.
During coaching we did drills, games and I even did some refereeing which was fun.  We came back for the afternoon; lunch and had a chilled afternoon.
We went in the freezing cold pool.  Then later we packed the donation bags before dinner; it was huge pizza's that we shared - it was lush!!

Thursday 18th July

Today we had a full day of coaching again.  We visited four schools in total.  We first went to Guardian Angels to coach them again and began to pick teams for the tournaments.  All the kids are so enthusiastic and really want to be picked.
We then went to the next school, SOSCO, to continue coaching and team picking.  Here I saw lots of little ones and we talked to a lot of children.  Then we went back to Kings Park where I got to see their teams play.  It was exciting to watch the kids get into the game for the upcoming tournaments.
Our final school showed us their teamwork and dedication when put in random teams and they all played brilliantly. 
We ended the day with pizzas which were so delicious!

I  miss you so much and love you lots!!!

I can't wait to see you again soon and tell you even more!

    Sounds like you’re having a really great experience and enjoying the culture of Zambia! I bet they are enjoying you lot too.
    We enjoyed hearing Miss Perks message from Zambia to yr 9’s!!!

    It looks as if you're all having a great time. We love reading the blog everyday and looking at the photos to see what you've been up to. I can't believe it's been a week already. We miss you lots. Carry on enjoying every minute of this amazing experience xxx Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back xxx

First day coaching in Zimbabwe

 Monday 22nd July 2024  By Bess Turpin  Today was our first full day in Zimbabwe, thankfully we were treated with a much needed lie in, 7.30am !! Breakfast was delicious with a range of food including avocado, eggs, toast, fruit and porridge. All full up, we hoped on the bus to our first morning of community projects which was at an old peoples home where we were greeted by an one hundred and eleven year old lady. We were split into groups which were given various tasks such as painting, brick laying and litter picking. I was tasked with removing plaster off a room wall in prep for it to be painted. We meticulously scraped plaster off the walls until the bare brick was exposed. After this hard work we had lunch and moved straight on to coaching which was hard in the beating sun but was very rewarding. 23rd and 24th July 2024 - Zim Coaching and Community Work

 23rd July 2024 By Olivia Scharinger Today, after we got ready, we had breakfast (which was so yummy) and then a couple of groups went to the old peoples home, whilst the others, including  mine, went to do training. The first group was normal, but for the second, we had load of children so me and a couple of others had to play games with some of them.  It was actually really fun. At the end, we also met a really cute 4 year old boy who gave us all hugs. After training, we all had lunch at the old peoples home, which was nice.  Then some groups left to do training whilst mine and some others stayed.  My group was doing painting, which I thought was really fun and satisfying.  It was really hot though so we went to sit inside for a bit.  When we finished, we all went back to the campsite, had showers and chilled for a bit before going out to dinner. Dinner was the best thing ever!  When we got there, the place was really nice and so was the music....

 Megan Evans Hello everyone! It's Megan Evans here and I'm here to fill you in on what we did today. But first I have to say what an amazing trip we have had so far! From the gorgeous sunsets, seeing lots and lots of giraffes and extremely sugary Fanta's, Zambia is truly incredible! So, this morning we had a cracking lie in with breakfast at 8, which consisted of toast, basked beans, scrambled egg and sausages. Then watched some Olympic in the bar before hopping on the mini bus to Victoria Falls! Before we had even got off the mini buses, we saw a group of baboons - you wouldn't get that in Esher! Then we started our trek into the Zambian jungle down to the falls. It was picturesque scenery the whole way down and when we got to the rocks at the bottom we could see the waterfall in all it's glory.
