Hi there!
Ellie here! This trip has been incredible so far.  I’ve made friends, learnt dances and seen so many animals (including a breed of sheep I’ve never seen in person before).

Today we went to the elephant  sanctuary and they are so beautiful!  It’s horrible to hear what a traumatic life they have had so far but they seem happy now.  It was also very interesting to see all the conservation techniques they use in Zambian National Parks.  I’m so glad that this much effort is being put towards the livelihood of all the marvellous animals here.

Then, this afternoon, we went coaching.  Although the children were confused at first, it was so fun and I can’t wait to do it again.

I am writing this at 5pm so I’ll probably go in the pool later as well (the temperature is the same as the waterfall I once went swimming in).
Thank you so much to everyone who helped me go on this trip, I am forever grateful.
Love you mum, dad and Eska and see you in two and a bit weeks!! Xxx

Hello Darcie here! Today we started by going to the Elephant Sanctuary, which was amazing.  We started off with a tour of the conservation huts, which is where we learnt how endangered elephants are.  Also, we learnt about Vultures, these are very intelligent because if there is a dead animal or poachers nearby they would fly up and this would indicate to the rangers that they need to go and investigate.
After the tour it was time to watch the elephants be fed, this was amazing.  They were drinking formula milk that the surrogate mothers had made.  The elephants were playing in the water and chucking sand all over each other.

Soon after we went coaching at a nearby school.  We had a group of around 50 children and it was very fulfilling to see all the children progress through the session by the end they had picked up the rules and were scoring tries.

On the way back, we were playing some music and singing along.  When we got back, a group of us played Uno with the young leaders and I had so much fun.

Love you lots, mum, dad and Eadie – Stay safe xxxx
